Remembering Lives Lost on 9/11

1400x600_911

We remember the members of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ community and all extended members of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ family who were killed in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. In particular, we remember the Noble Hearts taken from us 16 years ago today: Matthew G. Leonard '80, Gregory J. Trost '93, and Paul J. Battaglia '96. We pray today not only for all lives lost 16 years ago, but also for their families and loved ones.

Pictured above is a piece of steel from the Word Trade Center formally erected in the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Quadrangle on the 10th anniversary of the terror attacks. The steel design was an Eagle Scout Project of Nicholas Vernice '14. A plaque describing the installation reads: "This steel was originally part of the World Trade Center. The design represents not only the void of the towers in the skyline and of the fallen in our hearts, but of the hope that replaces them. Dedicated to those who have fallen, by those who will never forget."
