Students Lead Â鶹ÊÓƵ Community In Centennial Year Christmas Tree Lighting

Students and their families gathered at Â鶹ÊÓƵ on the evening of Friday, December 12 to salute the Christmas season and to give thanks for the blessed and joyful 2014 experienced by the Â鶹ÊÓƵ community.

The annual ceremony began in the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Chapel with readings and reflection. From there, attendees congregated in the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Quadrangle, singing "O Come, O Come Emanuel". Rev. Philip G. Judge, S.J. ’80, President of Â鶹ÊÓƵ, then offered a prayer and blessed the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Christmas tree while those gathered held candles and braved the cold.

After the tree was lit, the festivities moved to the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Auditorium, where hot chocolate, seasonal treats, and Christmas carols set the mood for a festive evening. A unique Centennial year Christmas Tree Ornament was also made available for purchase. Below are a few photos capturing the spirit of the event.
