Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Mourns the Loss of Fr. James J. Fischer, S.J. who died on Friday, April 11 at Murray-Weigel Hall, (Bronx, NY).
Father Fischer was born on December 23, 1923 and entered the Society of Jesus at St. Andrew-on-Hudson (Poughkeepsie, NY) on July 30, 1942. He became the 17th President of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ High School in 1980, a position he would hold for 12 years. When he left Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in 1992, his tenure became—and remains—the longest of any Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ President.
Please pray in thanksgiving for his work for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and other Jesuit apostolates, and for the repose of his soul.
