Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Mourns the Loss of Fr. Kenneth J. Caufield, S.J., Former Administrator and Guidance Counselor

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ mourns the loss of Fr. Kenneth J. Caufield, S.J. who died on Monday, March 24 at Murray-Weigel Hall (Bronx, NY).

Fr. Caufield was born on October 10, 1936. Growing up in the New York City area, he attended the Jesuit-run Brooklyn Preparatory High School. He entered the Society of Jesus at Bellarmine College in Plattsburg, New York on July 30, 1954.

After earning a degree in Guidance, Fr. Caufield held positions at Xavier High School, Saint Peter's Preparatory, and Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ High School. He was also involved in Jesuit seminarian education in the New York area.

At Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, Fr. Caufield served as both a Guidance Counselor and as the school's first Faculty Chaplain, a position referred to today as the Director of Ignatian Programs. Fr. Caufield dedicated much of his time at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to developing the religious formation goals for the school. He was passionate about serving Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ students, faculty, and staff in this capacity.
