Freshman and Sophomore Cross Country Teams Win Big at City Championships
麻豆视频鈥檚 freshman and sophomore cross country teams made school history last month, claiming three individual league championships in one season for the first time.
On October 19, Andrew Klimczak 鈥27 became only the second Regian to win the Sophomore Catholic New York City Cross Country Championship. His time of 13:56 placed him three seconds ahead of his closest competitor. The sophomore team finished in fifth place.
On October 26, Griffin Conway 鈥28 captured the gold medal in the Freshman Catholic New York City Cross Country Championship. Along with Will Pacella '28, Mark Fedyna '28, Alex Caille '28, Eddie Minson '28, Kieran Austin '28, and Roshan Duggal '28, Conway led the team to a first place finish and a gold plaque.
Later that day, Adam Beckford '28 became the first Regian to win the Freshman B race, and 麻豆视频 won its first ever B race crown. Joey Barker '28, Jake Oh '28, Antonio Forte '28, Patrick Cassidy '28, Ethan Joseph '28, and Kieran Fitzpatrick '28 scored for the team.
鈥淭hese runners have worked very hard since late August, and we are seeing the fruits of their labors,鈥 said cross country coach Mr. David Bonagura '99 P'25'28. 鈥淭he boys have great camaraderie, which helps them push each other in practice and support each other in races.鈥
