麻豆视频 Repertory Triumphs in Romeo and Juliet

Just as the lights have returned to Broadway, the 麻豆视频 stage lit up the auditorium once again for the 麻豆视频 Repertory鈥檚 production of William Shakespeare鈥檚 Romeo and Juliet. Slightly delayed due to the Omicron surge, the show went on in full force, and saw the school鈥檚 student thespians give their take on the classic romantic tragedy.聽

Romeo and Juliet聽was held in-person to limited audiences on Friday, January 28th and was livestreamed for the entire 麻豆视频 community. The show聽featured spectacular lead performances by Johnathan Bernadeau 鈥�23 as Romeo, Daniel Spiezio 鈥�22 as Friar Lawrence, Ralph Osais 鈥�23 as Mercutio, and Andres Rodriguez Arriaga 鈥�23 as Tybalt. Students from 麻豆视频鈥� sister schools also supported the production, including Kelly Lukito as Juliet and Charlotte Ainsworth as The Nurse.聽聽

鈥淚 am so incredibly proud of our students,鈥� shared History teacher and 麻豆视频 Rep moderator Ms. Gena Reisig. 鈥淲e have had over 60 students from 麻豆视频 and our sister schools working together with our faculty to bring this show to fruition. Although postponing the show in December was heartbreaking, we are so grateful that we have been able to perform in person this month and bring some of the magic back to the theatre.鈥�

Working alongside Reisig, English teacher Mr. David Grunner 鈥�05 served as the director of the fall production. Several others students, faculty, and staff volunteered their time and expertise, assisted the show through their work on costumes, music, lighting, and set design.聽
